This piece is a summary of our annual trip to the Great Sand Dunes National Park. My two best friends and I ventured into the dunes in September 2021 where we witnessed a beautiful moonrise over the mountains (where literally hundreds of coyotes and other animals started howling at the moon all around us), stargazed through our camping telescope at our favorite planets, and experienced the aspen trees in full fall color (this is a very rare experience in Colorado because they only look like this for a few days out of the year). I love these friends and love the sandy wonderland that is Great Sand Dunes NP!
